Ingen Ideas, the oil and gas consultancy, is delighted to announce that it has been awarded certification for the latest standards of ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 9001:2015 for Environment and Quality respectively.
A recent series of audits carried out by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance Limited (LRQA), examined Ingen’s integrated business management system (BMS), as well as its compliance with industry standards and best practice.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) reviews standards every five years to ensure that they are relevant to changing market demands. Subsequently, the latest version of the Environment and Quality standards were issued in September 2016, and organisations have until September 2018 to meet the requirements.
Ingen’s BMS has been quick to be certified against the new standards, and Managing Director Wayne Strachan explains why: “The certification is part of a larger continuous improvement project, so we were developing an already high-quality, robust system. The enhanced focus which ISO has placed on issues such as management engagement, change management, and performance and evaluation, are also important areas of focus for us as a company – so we had a reason to ensure that the latest requirements were implemented, cemented into our business management system, and filtered through to our everyday practice as soon as possible. We’re delighted to be one of the first to achieve the new enhanced Environment and Quality Standards”.
Ingen also has certification of the Health and Safety Standard ISO OSHAS 18001:2007, and is already preparing to work towards the update to that standard when the new version is released next year. Wayne added: “Our hard work will continue, as we commit to improving our business management system and working practices on an ongoing basis”.
Ron Crooks, LRQA Managing Assessor (Oil & Gas) said: “This certification will give Ingen’s customers confidence that it operates to the high standards set by ISO criteria. The fact that Ingen is one of the first companies of its nature to become certified to the newest standards, long before the due date, shows a definite commitment to operational excellence.”
